Woking is the most straightforward significant town in the county to work in, and the reason is simply that most of it is new. Wide roads, proper parking, lifts sized for furniture, and estate layouts designed with delivery vehicles in mind.

The station quarter
Modern apartment blocks, many with loading bays and goods lifts — the best access anywhere in Surrey. What they also have is rules: permitted windows, lift bookings, and protective covering in communal areas. The family housing
Behind and around the centre — substantial, long-occupied, with driveways and side access. Straightforward loading, and volumes consistently higher than the room count implies.

In a town this modern the street is rarely the problem; the building's management usually is. Ask your block as soon as you have keys what window you have, whether the lift needs booking and whether covering is required, then pass the answer on. Is Woking easier than Guildford?
Considerably. Newer stock, wider roads, proper parking and lifts that were built with furniture in mind. The constraint here is usually a building's own rules rather than the street.
Do the apartment blocks have loading bays?
