Volume, consistently underestimated

A double garage, a floored loft, a garden room, a cellar and a summer house are common, and together they routinely exceed the house itself. A bedroom count means very little here. We open every one of them at survey, because a second vehicle discovered at four in the afternoon is nobody's idea of a good day.

Contents that need more than a blanket

Veneered and inlaid furniture, stone and glass tops, framed work, mirrors and long-case clocks turn up more often in this part of the county than anywhere else. Those get identified at survey and given cases or crates rather than blankets, and anything genuinely valuable should be declared so the right cover is confirmed in writing.

Gated developments and private drives

Common. Straightforward once the gate code, the permitted window and any weight limit are known — all three asked for at booking rather than discovered at the barrier.

Riverside

A handful of properties along the Thames and the Wey have shared or private approaches that will pass a car and nothing wider, and ground that softens after a wet spell. Worth confirming in winter rather than assuming from a summer visit.

Getting out

The M25 is minutes away, which makes this the best-connected part of the county for a long move — and the reason a good share of Weybridge work goes a long way, including abroad.
